| 'Spine-chilling screams' of a teenage girl in a 'Jaws-like' shark attack in Australia Posted: 23 Oct 2017 03:34 AM PDT  A 15-year-old girl in Australia was thrown off her kayak by a 15-foot shark which then hunted her in "spine-chilling" scenes likened to those in Jaws. Sarah Williams was tossed into the air when a shark hit her kayak while paddling alongside her family in the state of South Australia. As the predator repeatedly circled and hit the kayak, she was hauled onto a boat by her brother, who lifted her over the deadly great white shark. The teenager escaped with minor injuries, saying the attack was "everything you picture in the Jaws movie". "I saw it when I was in the water with it," she told Channel Nine. "I saw what it was and I saw its fin." It was going to eat her... The difference between my daughter being alive and not being with me today is 10 seconds Chris Williams, her father, said the shark was "ferocious" and should be hunted and killed. "Sarah — she had been thrown into the air and just come down into the water, and this shark has just rolled and all I saw was the dark side and the white belly and just huge fins and just white water everywhere," he told ABC Radio. Indonesian Siti Aisyah and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, wearing bulletproof vests, were brought to Kuala Lumpur International Airport's budget terminal along with the judge in the case, defence lawyers and prosecutors. About 200 police, many armed with rifles and wearing masks, fanned out as the entourage arrived at the terminal. After being escorted round the airport pursued by a huge pack of journalists, the suspects appeared to get tired and were placed in wheelchairs. Huong and Aisyah, in their 20s, are accused of killing Kim on February 13 by rubbing the nerve agent VX on his face in a Cold War-style hit that stunned the world. Cheech, a pup who entered the shelter on Thursday, has pulled in a ton of attention for the pet shelter thanks to the dog's massive, toothy grin, KSAT reports. Photos of the "smiling" rescue first appeared on the shelter's Facebook page on Thursday, and more were posted on Friday. Those photos have since been shared more than 5,800 times. SEE ALSO: Get your fluffy cat snuggles without the cat The post was such a success that the shelter issued an update with background on their facility (it was started by a group of first responders), and a link to a pet adoption form for those looking to take Cheech home. Per a later update, one prospective applicant even phoned the County Sheriff's Office in hopes of learning more about the dog, a practice the shelter advises against. The spear fisherman, John Craig, was underwater off Western Australia state Friday when his boat was swept away due to engine problems and strong currents. He told the BBC that sharks gravitated towards him because stress had raised his heart rate. Mr Craig said: "I could feel my heart rate up, because I was panicking that I'd been left, after about five or ten minutes of this I put my head in the water to check I was still in the same place, and then at arm's reach, there was this huge four-meter tiger shark, I turned around and there was another fairly big sandbar whaler, which is another type of shark that you get here." A diver separated from his boat off the coast of Australia was followed by a large tiger shark He told local media the tiger shark was "easily the biggest tiger shark I've been in the water with and that's saying something having worked as a dive instructor for over 10 years." Terrified in the shark-infested waters near Shark Bay, he made the decision to swim back to shore. "I have to admit that at this point I thought I was gone - four nautical miles out to sea with a huge tiger shark following me. I thought this was it, this is how I'm going to die," he said. "The shark would disappear into the gloom then suddenly reappear behind me, just keeping pace with me behind my fins." Diver's close encounter with shark in Western Australia He spoke of how the shark pursued him, trying to kill him: "The shark didn't swim away, it actually followed me, so I started swimming towards the shore and the shark just kept pace behind me, so every time I looked back I just saw its huge head pointed at my fins, so I just kept my spear gun pointed towards my fins so it wouldn't get close enough to actually touch them, then it would disappear in the gloom then come down and come up below me and come from the sides...it was all because I was panicking. "I've been a dive instructor for ten years, and I knew straight away sharks were there because my heart rate was up and I was panicking. After about three or four minutes of swimming it just accelerated then started swimming beside me going towards the shore. So for about 15 minutes it was just swimming with me." Mr Craig kept his speargun pointed behind him as he embarked on a swim of "pure endurance", eventually losing the shark. He was later spotted by rescuers on a remote beach. "It's an absolutely incredible story," Shark Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue commander Greg Ridgley told Perth's Sunday Times.
