Saudi Arabia says Khashoggi murder premeditated: state media Posted: 25 Oct 2018 05:21 AM PDT Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor said on Thursday the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi was premeditated, citing a joint Saudi-Turkish investigation, state media reported. Saudi officials had earlier said an internal investigation suggested Khashoggi was killed in a botched operation to "negotiate" his return to the kingdom. Initially, Riyadh denied having anything to do with Khashoggi's disappearance after he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2. |

Organisers of the glitzy flagship Future Investment Initiative listed Prince Mohammed bin Salman among the "top speakers" for the second day of the three-day conference, after he made a brief appearance on Tuesday. The crown prince is likely to appear on a panel alongside Lebanon's prime minister-designate Saad Hariri, whose resignation in a televised address from the Saudi capital in mysterious circumstances last year sparked rumours he was being held against his will. |

Cathay Pacific shares slide to nine-year low as data leak rattles investors Posted: 24 Oct 2018 10:43 PM PDT Shares of Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd slid nearly 7 percent to a nine-year low on Thursday after it said data of about 9.4 million passengers of Cathay and its unit, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Ltd, had been accessed without authorization. Cathay said late on Wednesday that in addition to 860,000 passport numbers and about 245,000 Hong Kong identity card numbers, the hackers accessed 403 expired credit card numbers and 27 credit card numbers with no card verification value (CVV). The company said it discovered suspicious activity on its network in March 2018 and investigations in early May confirmed that certain personal data had been accessed. |

A grand jury indictment charged Tan Wee Beng, 41, with working with several other unnamed actors to move money through the international banking system for North Korean banks between 2011 and 2018, violating international sanctions on North Korea. Separately, the US Treasury slapped sanctions on Tan and two companies he ran -- Wee Tiong(S) Pte and WT Marine Pte, both of which did business with North Korea. |

At least eight suspicious parcels were intercepted before reaching any intended recipients, including Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, former CIA Director John Brennan and prominent Democratic Party donor George Soros. Two packages were sent to California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the FBI said. |
